Tick tock!

In Maths this week we have been learning all about time. We started the week by recapping over the o clocks, quarter to and past and half past. We then moved on to converting between both analogue and digital clocks. And by the end of the week we were working out time differences and answering word problems based on time.

In English this week, we have been inventing our own stories, based on the best text created from ‘The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe’. We created our own plot matrix plans, recapped over our SPaG themes from last week and also worked on setting and character descriptions. Next week, we will be starting our new topic, the story of Perseus and Medusa. If you have any spare tights at home that you do not need any longer, please bring them in on Monday! We are making our own medusa head and need tights for the snakes!

This week in Topic we have been learning all about Roman Soldiers. In particular, the different types of armies they had, the uniforms and also the rules they had to follow. We will be continuing with this topic next week. In RE, we learnt all about the Jewish 10 commandments, what they mean and how Jewish people follow them. In Art, we continued our topic of Escher, continuing to create our own tessellated designs using 2 shape stencils. Maths investigation, we have started our new focus- ‘double or nothing’- using our predicting skills to help us investigate.
